Fire protection for steel structures
Grade A1 non-combustible rock wool wrapped steel structural components delay the temperature rise of steel, extend the fire resistance limit, and provide valuable time for personnel evacuation and fire rescue.
Although steel itself is non-combustible, its strength will rapidly decrease at high temperatures, leading to softening and collapse in a short period of time, which is the greatest safety hazard in steel structure buildings. Our rock wool products are Class A1 non-combustible inorganic insulation materials specifically designed for fireproof coating of steel structures. Rock wool boards or blanket are tightly wrapped around the outside of load-bearing components such as steel beams, steel columns, and steel trusses, forming a thick thermal insulation barrier.
In the event of a fire, rock wool will not burn, melt, or drip, nor will it release large amounts of toxic smoke. It can delay the transfer of heat to the steel substrate, significantly postpone the temperature rise of steel, effectively extend the fire resistance limit of steel structures, and maintain the structural load-bearing capacity. This provides ample and valuable time for personnel evacuation and firefighting operations within the building. The product is compatible with H-beam, round tube steel, and irregular steel components, facilitating convenient construction. It can be matched with various external protective finishes and is widely used for passive fire protection in factories, warehouses, large venues, and high-rise steel structure buildings.
